Planning and Writing
Every day I set myself a challenge to plan a scene in whatever I'm writing at the moment, though at the moment I'm working out the timeline for one of my books.
Years ago I started writing Kalmari, which became the first book in the SandWish Series. I finished the first book, got stuck on the second, and did a first draft for the third, fourth, and part of fifth. I've tried a couple of times to do the second book, but I keep getting stuck at the same point, more or less.
This time I'm determined to get the second book finished and I think I finally know how I'm going to do it. I'm having a multi perspective view of the same events, so each chapter will concentrate on a different character and how they saw what was going on and what they were thinking about it.
It should make it a bit easier to plan as well cos I can just keep looking back at the main timeline and work out which of the important moments each character is involved with and then look at what they're doing in between.
Anyway, I'm hoping this'll mean that by the end of the year I'll have a full first draft!
