And this is how I prep

When I am working on a new story I tend to try various apps and programmes to see if they can help me to organise my thoughts and also remember details about characters and places.

This is me using Campfire's timeline feature on their phone app.

I've only used the timeline twice, and both within only recent days, but it turns out that I actually really like it. I usually go into a lot of my stories with a basic idea and it's only after I've done the dry run or rough draft that I start to know what I actually want to do with it.

The timeline below is for thensecond book in the SandWish series, which I've been a little stuck on for a while. I know what I want to happen, but I keep losing my focus, but this time I think I have got a real plan for it. Each new event on the timeline gets a short title, and then a brief description that I can check by tapping on the title. I can also link other events from other chapters so I know what is happening at the same time.

This isn't the full timeline as I don't want to give away major spoilers before I've even finished writing the book.

I will talk more about using campfire, both on the app and their website, because I do use it a lot these days. The other programme I use a lot is Scrivener and I will chat about thT at some point too.

I hope this was at least a little bit interesting. ^_^
